| Rob Taylor Welcome to my new web pages where you can find out a little about me. |
| About Rob Taylor Born in 1955 Rob grew up in Henbury and Shirehampton in the northern suberbs of Bristol. His first school was at St Marys behind Priory Road. The school is now known as Shirehampton Primary School. When he was seven his parents emigrated to Australia where Rob picked up a flavour for photography from his father. On their return in 1965 they moved to Henbury where rob spent his teens going to Henbury Secondary school. There he learned to play the guitar with his friends. At sixteen Rob left school to join the Royal Air Force. In the Air Force Rob trained as an electronic engineer concentrating on communications and radar. During his twelve years service he met his wife Glenis and they had three daughters, the youngest being born in 1985. He also nurtured his photographic hobby and gained such a level of knowledge that he became a teacher of the subject at evening classes. It also gave hime the oportunity to take a flight with the famous Royal Air Force display team The Red Arrows. After twelve years Rob left the Air Force and travelled to the middle east where he worked, first in Saudi Arabia followed by a spell in the Sultanate of Oman. The Hash House Harriers became a large part of his life in Arabia and probably kept him on the right side of sanity. After five years he returned to work for Nokia in Huntingdon becoming heavily involved in the devlopment of the GSM digital communications system. The late nineties and early twenty first century saw a shift from steady jobs having been made redundant twice during the internet bubble burst in 2001. To pay the mortgage was the main task so, after a couple of false starts he took a job installing and maintaining electronic equipment in the leisure industry. He now works for himself as a wedding and freelance photographer.. Something he thoroughly enjoys. |
I still spend a lot of time on my photographic hobby and you can follow the links to see some of my work. I also play the bass guitar in a three piece blues band called Fenboy3. Add to this the weekend session with the Cambridge Hash House Harriers and I find myself very occupied. This does not take into account the time I now spend with my three girls and the grandchildren they have given me. |
