Well, the 15th November has been and gone. The market has been and gone and what a day we've had! The stalls turned up on time, the stallholders turned up on time, the weather kept dry (although autumnally cool) and more importantly, loads of people turned up and we had a terrific day.
Richard Emmitt We will be putting loads of pictures on these web pages showing what a day we had alongside reviews and peoples comments. Please come back regularly to view the photos and words and tell all you friends about us. Don't forget there will be another one next year and the organising will commence very soon, once we've had a chance to sit down and assess this, the first Benwick Dickensian Market.

Again, next year the market will aim to have an old fashioned feel to it and to this end we will be asking stallholders to dress in a Victorian, Dickensian, fashion. Nothing too elaborate, long skirts and old-fashioned bonnets for the ladies and perhaps a long coat and top hat type of clothing for the gentlemen. There was a prize for the best-dressed stallholder and another for the best-dressed member of the public and you can read about this on the review pages.

The day was not confined to the market itself as there was additional entertainment to be found at the local hostelry, The Five Alls which is located right next door.

If you have an interest in setting up a stall next year, providing entertainment or other service there is a booking form on the "Stalls" and "Contacts" pages. Feel free to contact any one of the organisers of the Market. You will also find their details on the "Contacts" page.
